Seed Funding
The earliest stage of a company is seed. These are companies that are just getting started and generally require smaller sums of money like $250,000 to $1M. They use this to get a product built and test the marketability.
Early-Stage Company
Early stage companies are companies that are setting up an infrastructure.
They typically have a product and if not revenue then a growing user base.
This stage is generally to initiate commercial production, hire key individuals and bring the company to market quickly.
